The Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions will take on the Page Sand Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 33.6 points per game this season.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Benjamin Franklin just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 35-14 to the Chargers. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Lions couldn't quite close it out.
Although Pusch Ridge Christian Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Levi Adcock and Dominic Painter.
Meanwhile, Page came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 47.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wranglers 58-0. The Sand Devils pushed the score to 51-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wranglers had no chance of recovering from.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy better focus on containing Joseph Benally and Renato Littleman as the pair were huge in Page's win. Benally threw for 174 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes, while Littleman rushed for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing yards Littleman has posted since back in August.
Page didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Wickenburg to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Korey Bigthumb, Andrew Cummings, Avery Yazzie, and Skyler Johnson, who each logged one passes deflected. Page hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.48 or higher in six consecutive games.
Page's defense didn't let Brayden Zuccato, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Mason Hansen refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Page's record now sits at 8-2. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-2.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 48-2 loss at the hands of Page when the teams last played back in November of 2018. Thankfully for the Lions, Kele Meredith (who rushed for 277 yards on only 15 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
