Basketball Recap: First Baptist Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely First Baptist's strategy against Heritage Christian on Tuesday. The First Baptist Saints put the hurt on the Heritage Christian Eagles with a sharp 75-53 win. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

First Baptist got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Jones out in front who went 8 for 15 on his way to 19 points and six assists. Jones' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincy Rheams, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

First Baptist's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

First Baptist will take on Covenant in a holiday battle at at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Covenant will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something First Baptist surely won't give up without a fight. As for Heritage Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Prestonwood Christian North at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
