The Apache Junction Prospectors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Cortez, falling 62-22. Apache Junction has struggled against Cortez recently, as their contest on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Apache Junction still got an impressive performance from Josh Castro, who scored 13 points.
It was another big night for Ulysses Espinoza, who scored 21 points along with four steals for Cortez. Another player making a difference was Kaden Ramirez, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Apache Junction's loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-14. As for Cortez, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.
