The Arizona College Prep Knights struggled with assists on Thursday (the Eastmark Firebirds had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Arizona College Prep took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastmark. While losing is never fun, Arizona College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while Eastmark is ranked 36th).
Despite the loss, Arizona College Prep still got an impressive performance from Jaylee Aulds, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Chloe Warren was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Eastmark got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna LaFountain out in front who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Farnstrom, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Arizona College Prep and nudges their season record down to 10-14. As for Eastmark, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arizona College Prep will take on American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Arizona College Prep is facing American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North at the right time seeing as American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Eastmark, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Eastmark is coming into the contest with five straight victories at home, so American Leadership Academy is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
