The Carolina Forest Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sumter. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carolina Forest in their matchups with Sumter: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Carolina Forest still got an impressive performance from Sammy McGuire, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daniel Allen, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Carolina Forest's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-11. As for Sumter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-10.
Carolina Forest will head out on the road to face off against Socastee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Socastee is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Sumter, Sumter and St. James will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. James presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sumter in South Carolina (St. James is ranked 20th, while Sumter is ranked 95th).
