Brock (Texas) notched 14 points on top of its 48-point lead going into the fourth quarter to win against Tornillo (Texas) 62-6.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Seth Boleman to
Tyler Gray in the first quarter, the Eagles led 41-0 at the half.
Brock expanded its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Leddy French.
Slaten Gough and French ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Coyotes. Gough scored two touchdowns on the ground and French added two as well.
Klay Marr stood out for the Eagles in the win. The junior wide receiver kicked eight extra points.
Tornillo's lone touchdown came on an 80-yard run by Abraham Iglesia in the fourth quarter.
Tornillo came in giving up 17.9 points per game this season. Brock came in allowing an average of 18.1 points per game this season. BHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept THS well below the 14.3 points it had been averaging per game.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Eagles, who were coming off a 35-14 defeat at the hands of Fort Worth Christian in its previous game.
Brock (6-2) will play a non-conference game against Roosevelt next week, while Tornillo (4-5) will take on Cathedral also in a non-conference game.
