While losing is never fun, Clearview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Washington Township is ranked 22nd).
When it comes to explaining why Clearview lost, one person who can't be blamed is Obrian Brown. Despite the final result, he rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
Jared Dzierzgowski looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 147 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Dzierzgowski is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Clearview has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Washington Township, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearview will take on Hightstown at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hightstown is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Washington Township, they will be playing at home against Atlantic City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
