Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Lynden's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

It's playoff time, and Lynden had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Franklin Pierce Cardinals with a sharp 11-1 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 13 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lynden is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin Pierce, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-3.

Looking ahead, Lynden will square off against Ephrata at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. Franklin Pierce does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
