Softball Recap: Mount Juliet Has No Trouble Against Beech

Mount Juliet got themselves on the board against Beech on Tuesday, but Beech never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Buccaneers with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Golden Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Beech's batters probably weren't too happy with Ashlyn Elliott, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 18 Ks (she gave up four walks). Those 18 strikeouts gave Elliott a new career-high.

At the plate, Annalise Mecklenberg and Kendall Bucher did most of the damage at the plate: Mecklenberg scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Bucher went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was Bucher's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chloe Younggren, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Mount Juliet and bumps their season record up to 7-3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Beech, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Mount Juliet didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-5 win against Varsity Opponent on the 26th. As for Beech, they have also already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Hendersonville on the 27th.
