The North Posey Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Spencer. North Posey has not had much luck with South Spencer recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, North Posey saw an underclassman step up: Elle jo Johnson scored 19 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Weatherholt, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Molly Schulte continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Spencer, scoring 29 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Schulte has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kendalyn Shourds, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
North Posey's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14. As for South Spencer, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.
North Posey will be playing at home against Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Spencer, they will head out on the road to take on Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Washington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Spencer in Indiana (Washington is ranked 29th, while South Spencer is ranked 165th).
