The Coronado Thunderbirds can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They skirted past El Dorado 45-42. The victory was just what Coronado needed coming off of a 56-29 loss in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coronado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anthony Urquidi, who scored 12 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Urquidi has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Gonzalez, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Coronado's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17. As for El Dorado, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-17.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Americas the next time they take the court. El Dorado will head out to face Americas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Coronado will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
