If the Christian Eagles were expecting to get some payback for the 64-40 loss against the East Grand Rapids Pioneers when they previously met last month, then they were left disappointed. Christian fell just short of Grand Rapids by a score of 63-59. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
The Eagles' loss pushed them down to 13-3. The victory -- their 14th in a row -- raised the Pioneers' record to 16-1.
The Eagles will square off against Wayland on Tuesday. Christian won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings. Grand Rapids will be playing at home against Thornapple Kellogg next week. Thornapple Kellogg also got away with a close one in their previous game.
