Cotopaxi is a perfect 10-0 against Cripple Creek-Victor since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pirates will face off against the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Cotopaxi will be strutting in after a victory while Cripple Creek-Victor will be coming in after a loss.
Cotopaxi will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating La Veta, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Redhawks on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.
Cotopaxi was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-21.

Cotopaxi relied on the efforts of Illiana Herrera, who had eight digs and eight assists, and Sophie Eggleston, who had 16 digs and three aces. What's more, Herrera posted three kills, the most she's had since back in August.
They weren't the only good servers: Cotopaxi was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Cripple Creek-Victor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Thomas MacLaren School, falling 3-0.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 25-9.
Cripple Creek-Victor's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Cotopaxi, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Cotopaxi has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5 aces per game. However, it's not like Cripple Creek-Victor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Cotopaxi skirted past Cripple Creek-Victor 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
