Basketball Recap: Northwest Skates Past Lakeview with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest). They breezed by the Lakeview Vikings to the tune of 65-32 on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-7.

Northwest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Reagan Mcintyre out in front who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Mcintyre a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laiken Dorsey, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 19 points.

Northwest was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Northwest's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Lakeview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Northwest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-37 loss against York on the 11th. As for Lakeview, they will venture away from home to square off against Pierce at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pierce has four straight wins, Lakeview has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
