Basketball Recap: Parkway Northwest Beats Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech for Their Seventh Straight Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Parkway Northwest ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They slipped by the Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech Panthers 57-56. The victory was just business as usual for the Hoyas, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Parkway Northwest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kahleem Jordan out in front who posted 25 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jordan has scored at least a third of Parkway Northwest's points. Another player making a difference was Andre Carter, who had 16 points.

Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Semaj Brown, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Brown is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Francisco Quiles was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Parkway Northwest pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkway Northwest will venture away from home to face off against KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
