Southeastern hasn't had much luck against Westfall recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 5:15 p.m. Southeastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Southeastern will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Unioto, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Shermans on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Kylie Williams made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracie Brown, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Fisher, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Southeastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Westfall fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Grove City Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 10-9.
Aubrey Bickenheuser and Layla Geiger stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bickenheuser went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Geiger went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jill Butcher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Southeastern's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Westfall, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Westfall's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Southeastern has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Westfall, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Southeastern's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Southeastern got the 'W' in their previous meeting on April 13th against Westfall by a conclusive 13-3 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
