Langston Hughes can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Paulding County, posting a 56-9 win on the road. Given Langston Hughes' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Paulding County is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Langston Hughes got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carsyn Baker out in front who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Maurice Gleaton jr was another key contributor, picking up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for North Forsyth at home against Apalachee on Friday as the squad secured a 42-13 win. The win was just what North Forsyth needed coming off of a 41-14 loss in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Elijah Seaney, who threw for 247 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Roberts, who picked up 49 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Langston Hughes' victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35 points. As for North Forsyth, their victory bumped their record up to 5-5.
