The Liberty Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 35-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monticello. Liberty has not had much luck with Monticello recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Amiah Neails had an outrageously good game for Monticello as she scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Morgan Hutchins, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Monticello, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Liberty will head out on the road to square off against Beacon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beacon's defense has only allowed 28.5 points per game this season, so Liberty's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Monticello, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Washingtonville at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Monticello focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
