The Wray Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Holyoke Dragons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wray walked away with it. They breezed by Centauri on the road to the tune of 59-27. The victory was familiar territory for Wray who now have four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wray to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samuel Meisner, who rushed for 122 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Casey Midcap was another key contributor, rushing for 33 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Holyoke never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 42-0 win over Platte Canyon. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Holyoke had established a 36 point advantage.
Their wins bumped Wray to 7-3 and Holyoke to 9-1.
Things could have been worse for Wray, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 32-14 loss to Holyoke when the teams last played back in September. Can Wray avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
