Lewis-Palmer and Pine Creek are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Rangers will square off against the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Lewis-Palmer sitting on eight straight wins and Pine Creek on six.
While Lewis-Palmer's victory against Air Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rangers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Kadets on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rangers have posted since April 1st.
Alvin Jarrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Charlie Lendt, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Eberly, who earned one run and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Pine Creek beat Rampart 6-3 on Wednesday.
Pine Creek also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Tristan Mullis gave up three earned runs on four hits.
At the plate, Dane Dial was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Kyle McDonnell was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Lewis-Palmer's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Pine Creek, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lewis-Palmer hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Pine Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lewis-Palmer came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
