The Concord Yellowjackets couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 45-37 to Hanover-Horton on Tuesday. Concord lost against Hanover-Horton in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-25 score last time.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maria Stevens, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. Cieara Barrett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hanover-Horton, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord will take on Michigan Center at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hanover-Horton, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Grass Lake at 7:00 p.m.
