Eupora extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 2 this week by beating Ackerman, 22-18. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Eagles.
Hamilton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,684 from 12,058. The improvement came about via a 27-6 victory over George last week.
The Indians' dynamic duo of Dakota Brasher and Jamarcus Bradley proved tough for Eupora to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Brasher threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns and Bradley had 52 yards receiving. Quinton Lane helped Ackerman's passing attack out by catching two balls for 40 yards.
Deangelo Liggins was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 157 yards as East Webster fell to Junior Graham's team. Teammate Jack Wilson added to the ground attack by rushing for 77 yards.
Wilbur O'briant made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wolverines beat Williams Sullivan. The junior forced one fumble and racked up 0.5 sack.
The Eagles' Pittman Trey and Jones Derrick have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Trey has thrown for 1097 yards this season, while Derrick has 30 catches for 593 yards. Liggins from East Webster leads the league in rushing with 726 yards.
A big matchup in 2A Region 2 this week will be when the Lions take on the Wolverines. At the moment, Hamilton is in fourth, while East Webster is in second.
The Wolverines led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on the Yellowjackets. Liggins in the win.
