Kentlake hasn't had much luck against Federal Way recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Falcons will take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Kentlake 3.5, Federal Way 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Last Tuesday, Kentlake was able to grind out a solid win over Jefferson, taking the game 11-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Matthew Ledbetter tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Adams, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Moore, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Federal Way entered their tilt with Auburn Mountainview on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lions 3-1. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Orlando Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Young was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Thoma Holden was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Federal Way's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kentlake, the win got them back to even at 5-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Kentlake has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Federal Way struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Kentlake couldn't quite get it done against Federal Way in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
