The Richlands Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Midway Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Richlands 2.6, Midway 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Richlands will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Clinton on Friday. Richlands' pitchers stepped up to hand Clinton a 12-0 shutout. The match marked the Wildcats' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Addi Andrews and Makenzie Goin made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Andrews struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Goin tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Andrews scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Goin scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Goin has posted since back in April of 2024.

Midway not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 21, 2024. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Harnett Central. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Sarah Autry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Autry was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Richlands has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. The win (which was Midway's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Richlands has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Midway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
