The Niwot Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mountain View, falling 69-27. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Niwot in their matchups with Mountain View: they've now lost six in a row.
Addison Branscum was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Mountain View. The team also got some help courtesy of Meghan Keil, who scored 15 points.
Niwot's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Niwot will head out on the road to square off against Skyline at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Skyline is ranked 216th, while Niwot is ranked 214th). As for Mountain View, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-52 victory vs. Loveland on the 10th.
