The Stockbridge Tigers's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They snuck past McDonough with a 59-54 win. Given Stockbridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while McDonough is ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stockbridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carrington Wilson, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Wilson hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was India Mcintosh, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Warhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amiyah Dedrick, who scored eight points along with two steals. Dedrick is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Byrd, who scored nine points.
Stockbridge has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for McDonough, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Woodland the next time they take the court. McDonough will head out to face Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Stockbridge will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
