Snowflake and Winslow are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Lobos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Snowflake's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
On Friday, Snowflake got the win against Holbrook by a conclusive 12-1. Considering the Lobos have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kashlynn Cantrell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taya Schneider, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brittyn Butler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Snowflake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Winslow's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Show Low by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 15, 2024.
Snowflake's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Winslow, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-12.
Snowflake suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Winslow in their previous meeting on April 8th. Will the Lobos have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
