The Executive Education Academy Charter School Raptors will head out on the road to face off against the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Executive Education Academy Charter School took a serious blow against Danville, falling 52-20. While losing is never fun, Executive Education Academy Charter School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Danville is ranked 77th).
The team lost despite holding Danville to a paltry no rushing yards and no passing yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Executive Education Academy Charter School's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Josiah Floyd and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Schuylkill Haven unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 37-14 loss to Blue Mountain might stick with them for a while.
Despite the loss, Schuylkill Haven saw an underclassman step up: Niko Carestia rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown. Carestia was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
The losses dropped Executive Education Academy Charter School to 4-6 and Schuylkill Haven to 8-2.
Executive Education Academy Charter School beat Schuylkill Haven 24-13 when the teams last played back in September of 2021. Will Executive Education Academy Charter School repeat their success, or does Schuylkill Haven have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
