After soaring to 59 points the game before, the Accelerate Christian Warriors were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They fell just short of Christ Academy by a score of 26-24. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Accelerate Christian of the 34-33 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 6th.
Accelerate Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaxon Leyendecker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon McKnight, who scored two points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Accelerate Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Accelerate Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Christ Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Accelerate Christian on the road again on Saturday and play against Wichita Christian at 12:30 p.m. on January 27th. Wichita Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Christ Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Cross Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
