The Chariho Chargers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They claimed a resounding 59-13 victory over Woonsocket on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chariho also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Leading Chariho to victory were Emily Ballard and Keira Frias. Ballard scored 13 points along with nine rebounds, while Frias scored 19 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Ballard, who scored five points.
Chariho's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Woonsocket, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Cumberland the next time they take the court. Woonsocket will head out to face Cumberland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Chariho will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
