The Gallup Bengals stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Bloomfield as Gallup made off with a 55-35 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gallup.
When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aliya Quintana. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Quintana is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Johnson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Gallup pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Bloomfield, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.
Gallup didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-32 victory vs. Shiprock on the 12th. Bloomfield will head out on the road to square off against Miyamura at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bloomfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
