The Branford Buccaneers will head out to face off against the Wakulla Christian School Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Branford will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Branford is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Eastside on Wednesday as they made off with a 22-5 win. Considering the Buccaneers have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jackson Skinner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring five runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4. Those five runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kyler Williamson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Patrick Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.
Branford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .646. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside only posted an OBP of .483.
Meanwhile, Wakulla Christian School scored first but ultimately less than Brookwood in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 5-4.
Wakulla Christian School saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jay Brown, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another was Kory Paynter, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Branford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Wakulla Christian School, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Wakulla Christian School's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Branford hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. It's a different story for Wakulla Christian School, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Branford's hitters?
Branford took their win against Wakulla Christian School in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
