Uvalde had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Friday they dropped down to 2-2 to make it six. They were dealt  a  49-21 defeat at the hands of the Crystal City Javelinas. As for Crystal City, the  win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average this season.
  Adrian Zavala had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 175 yards and two  TDs while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Zavala is  crushing it when it comes to  rushing yards: he's   rushed for at least 128 every time he's  taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was  Christopher Mena, who threw for 161 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 13 passes.
 Coming up, Uvalde will head out on the road to  challenge  Fredericksburg  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The  match will  give the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Crystal City, they will be playing at home against Carrizo Springs  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
