Leeds was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on the Clay-Chalkville Cougars with a sharp 17-3 victory. The Greenwave have beaten the Cougars the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Leeds got a massive performance out of Conner Nelson, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs Nelson has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Ford, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Leeds' record is now 2-0. As for Clay-Chalkville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leeds will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Pinson Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clay-Chalkville, they will take on Shades Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
