Baseball Recap: Oceanside Wins Going Away Against Winslow

Oceanside came out on top against Winslow on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run sixth inning. The Mariners blew past the Black Raiders 15-3. The matchup marked the Mariners' most dominant win of the season so far.

Dom Frisone was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blade Brann, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Oceanside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winslow only posted an OBP of .414.

The victory made it two in a row for Oceanside and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Winslow, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oceanside will take on Medomak Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mariners 3.6, the Panthers 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Winslow, they will square off against Cony at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
