Basketball Recap: Ocracoke Wins Going Away Against Columbia

Ocracoke won the last time they faced Columbia and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Ocracoke Dolphins blew past the Columbia Wildcats 61-36. The Dolphins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Columbia still got an impressive performance from Jayden Sawyer, who went 6 of 12 en route to 21 points and eight boards. The game was Sawyer's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jaimarques Whitley was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Ocracoke has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Columbia, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ocracoke has already played their next match (against Bear Grass Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Columbia will welcome Hobgood Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hobgood Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
