Baseball Recap: Bigfork Wins Going Away Against Troy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbia Falls, Bigfork was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Troy Trojans. The result was nothing new for the Vikings & Valkyries, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Grady Campbell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. Campbell was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Bigfork let Ryeln Rodriguez and Liam Benson run wild. Rodriguez went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs, while Benson went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryder Hamilton, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The victory got Bigfork back to even at 3-3. As for Troy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, Bigfork and Troy will both be playing Whitefish the next time they take the field. The Vikings & Valkyries will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Trojans will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
