Make it four blowout wins for the Saugerties Sawyers this season. They blew past Rondout Valley 69-31 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Saugerties who now have five in a row.
Leading Saugerties to victory were Nicolette Rifenburgh and Natalie Tucker. Rifenburgh scored 19 points along with two steals, while Tucker scored 21 points along with five assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season. Emily Schlosser was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Saugerties' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Rondout Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saugerties will take on New Paltz at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Paltz comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Rondout Valley, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Pine Plains at 4:00 p.m. on January 17th. Pine Plains will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
