Saluda has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On January 4th, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Saluda beat Emerald 43-38.
In what's become a running theme this season, Ninety Six gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 43-16 victory over Abbeville. Winning may never get old, but Ninety Six sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Ninety Six relied on the efforts of Janiyah Squire, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Olivia Coster, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coster has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Fortner, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Saluda's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Ninety Six, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Saluda came up short against Ninety Six in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 37-27. Can Saluda avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
