The MICDS Rams will be home for the holidays to greet the Parkway South Patriots at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, MICDS strolled past Des Moines North with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for MICDS.
Meanwhile, Parkway South was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwest on Wednesday, taking the game 49-42.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkway South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eddie Ahearn, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The game was Ahearn's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Ryan Shanfeld was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
MICDS pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Parkway South, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.
MICDS came out on top in a nail-biter against Parkway South in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, sneaking past 61-59. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Parkway South's Adam Sommer, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for MICDS to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
