The Varnado Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 57-26 loss at the hands of Amite. Varnado has not had much luck with Amite recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Amite can attribute much of their success to Braylon Jackson, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Jackson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Javan Lewis, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Varnado's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Amite, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Varnado will square off against Hammond at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hammond has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three contests. Amite will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Port Allen at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st.
