On Friday Powers take on Gilchrist at 2:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close matchup.
Powers had to kick off their season on the road last Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They steamrollered Jewell 44-6.
Meanwhile, Gilchrist had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They were given a punishing 19-64 defeat at the hands of McKenzie.
Powers's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Gilchrist's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Powers can add another positive mark to their record or if Gilchrist can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Powers's step.
