Spring Valley Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 43-26 fall against Andrews Academy. While losing is never fun, Spring Valley Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 735th in Ohio, while Andrews Academy is ranked 308th in Michigan).
Leading Andrews Academy to victory were Alexa Leonor and Audrey Simpson. Leonor scored 18 points along with two steals, while Simpson scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and seven blocks. Simpson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Havvah Schnepp was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Spring Valley Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Andrews Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Spring Valley Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Miami Valley at 6:45 p.m. on February 5th. As for Andrews Academy, they will face off against Tournament Opponent at 5:20 p.m. on Thursday. Tournament Opponent is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses.
