Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Winfield couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Gordo Green Wave by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their 17-game winning streak.

Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 34-7. As for Gordo, they have been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-16 record this season.
