Meanwhile,  Mingham   didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Davis has been consistent : he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive appearances. At bat,  Davis  scored four  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances, while  Mingham  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4. Davis has become a key player for Modesto Christian: the team is 3-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 0-12 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Christian Duden, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Mike Martinez, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Modesto Christian's  victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-13. As for Stone Ridge Christian,  they are  on  a  ten-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
