East River is 0-4 against Lake Howell since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Falcons will host the Silverhawks at 7:00 p.m. East River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
East River fell victim to Boone and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Braves by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Howell). They came out on top against Timber Creek by a score of 10-7 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Silverhawks have won by exactly three runs.
Angelina Sierra made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Sierra was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kayden Kerr was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jordan Hodosko, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Lake Howell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win got Lake Howell back to even at 3-3. As for East River, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Lake Howell's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. East River has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lake Howell, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 strikeouts. Will East River keep running through batters, or will the Silverhawks buck the trend?
East River might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Lake Howell in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
