Ira Hendrix and Donnie Gay provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Wheeler County. The connection was good for 68 yards, the longest such play in A Region 3A this season.
Jenkins County moved up to 395 from 438 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 45-26 win over the Bulldogs helped the Eagles improve their standing.
Jenkins County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hendrix threw for 171 and two touchdowns and Gay had 68 yards receiving. On the ground Zavondric Shingleton chipped in 93 yards. Martese Parris helped Jenkins County's passing attack out by catching two balls for 58 yards.
Calvary Day's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cavaliers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jake Clemens has thrown for 486 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Ryan Jennings has eight catches for 165 yards. Clemens also leads the league in rushing with 208 yards.
Savannah Christian took down Montgomery County 47-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
