The Statesboro Blue Devils waltzed into Friday's match with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Richmond Hill 45-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Statesboro also won the last time the pair played back in November.
Reya Johnson was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Demia Hartwell, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Statesboro has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Richmond Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Statesboro won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jenkins at 6:00 p.m. on December 9th. Jenkins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Statesboro is ranked 70th). As for Richmond Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Glynn Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
