Southeast and Heights are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Southeast Golden Buffalo are on the road again on Friday and play against the Heights Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Southeast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Heights is ranked 23rd).
Last Tuesday, Southeast was the victim of a rough 71-45 loss at the hands of Northwest. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southeast in their matchups with Northwest: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Heights waltzed into their match Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 84-43 victory over South on the road. 84 seems to be a good number for Heights as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Heights got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Robinson out in front who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Aven Mboule, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Heights, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Things could have been worse for Southeast, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 83-66 loss to Heights in their previous matchup back in February. Can Southeast avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
