Basketball Recap: Patriot Prep Academy Skates Past Academy for Urban Scholars with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Patriot Prep Academy). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 75-3 win over the Academy for Urban Scholars Centurion Hawks. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 35 points or more this season.

Patriot Prep Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double on 36 points and nine rebounds. Thomas' evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Narkuor Tetteh-Odonkor, who posted 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Patriot Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Patriot Prep Academy pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42 points. As for Academy for Urban Scholars, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patriot Prep Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fairfield Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for Academy for Urban Scholars, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cristo Rey at 6:30 p.m.
